Not every night can be a ‘Big Night Out’.
If you’re looking for fun things to do in that don’t involve alcohol, then don’t worry, Adelaide’s the right place to be!
Try some of these fun activities for a great night out.
Get close to nature
You won’t forget a night spent camping under the stars or exploring night trails in one of South Australia’s beautiful national parks. You can get campsite maps and other info from National Parks SA.
You can also go stargazing one of the several observatories in and around Adelaide for a glimpse of the night skies from the Southern Hemisphere.
Or, take a walk along one of some of the most beautiful beaches and watch the sunset (or sunrise)!
Check out some sports
The city’s sporting calendar is regularly packed out. For a night match of cricket or football, look no further than the world-class Adelaide Oval, and in January, Adelaide plays host to The World Tennis Challenge.
Live music, events, and films
In the Summertime, you can see advance screenings, new releases, and cult classics at the Moonlight Cinema. In March and April, you can also enjoy some premium ice cream with your films at the Ben & Jerry’s OpenAir Cinema, on the stunning Glenelg Foreshore.
Adelaide’s live music scene is well-known for its fantastic mix of local and international acts. You can check out its Concert and Gig guide here.
If you’d like to squeeze in a little culture, The Art Gallery of South Australia stays open after hours on the first Friday of every month for talks, live music and the latest exhibitions and displays.
For late night shoppers, the famous Adelaide Central Market stays open late on Fridays and The Ebenezer Night Markets start from 5:30pm from November to March.

Cuisine
You’ll be perfectly satisfied without a drink at any of Adelaide’s renowned food districts. For something with a European influence, head to the historic town of Hahndorf, Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement or, try Gouger Street for traditional Asian cuisine.
